Lifestyles are constantly evolving and with them the consumption styles of people whose needs and habits have profoundly changed. It’s inevitable that these transformations also condition the way of living and how we live in our homes.
The traditional concept of the home as a large space divided internally into several spaces of different sizes, determined on the basis of their intended use (kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, laundry room), is in fact no longer satisfactory. Today, in fact, a new need is emerging: the one of living in a changing environment, which is composed and decomposed according to the needs. So the shift is from a house made of rooms to a house made of intelligent spaces.

Protek + design is a 100% made in Italy company that offers modular and space saving furniture that takes advantage of the thickness of the walls with removable solutions.
The great increase in the houses purchase price has reduced the possibility of accessible spaces. This means that the new generations will live in smaller and smaller rooms, but full of every comfort.
Today more than ever, the concept of any design element must be studied to adapt to these needs. And if needs change, private spaces can only be custom designed from those who live them.
In this regard, 10 years ago, the Maison Bizzotto project proposed a small house of only 60 square meters but expertly exploited, thanks to sliding design walls that allow you to continuously reconfigure the space according to your needs, thus making it livable and multifunctional.

The first transformation towards this new way of conceiving the home started from the kitchen. This area, in fact, both for the limited square meters in the modern homes and for the new generations lack of desire to experiment in the kitchen, has been converted from a closed and an end in itself environment to an open space environment that also includes the living room.
The result? A convivial and welcoming living room where colors, lighting, textures and finishes of the furnishings bind together creating perfect harmony.

In the bedroom, however, the bed and the wardrobe are no longer the only protagonists. In fact, people are starting to feel the need, or in this case more the "luxury", to have a small corner dedicated to relaxation, such as an exposed bathtub, which makes the space not only even more relaxing but also more chic. In short, SPA style!

Last, but in my opinion fundamental, the bathroom!
The bathroom is the private space of the house. It’s considered the second most lived environment of our home, but often in the past the most neglected in the design phase, why? ... well it's just a bathroom.
In recent years, however, there has been a re-evaluation of what is becoming a room dedicated to self-care and to the psychophysical well-being of the person. In short, a nice bathroom doesn’t necessarily require a big space if you intelligently balance materials, surfaces, colors, lighting and various furnishing accessories.

And here we begin our journey about the bathroom. The topics related to this area of the house cannot be exclusively aesthetic or related to a different use of this space. The eco-sustainable drive because of the great attention to climate change and to the use / re-use of water, the new technologies that increase the functionality of this space which has a strong technical component, those are all fundamental topics that need to be addressed in order to understand in which direction the concept of the bathroom is going. But first of all I would start talking about the aesthetics of this area considered very private in every home.
